Green Property Sponsorships

As an urban Festival in the Pacific Northwest, Bumbershoot has always been conscious of the resources used to produce the event and strives to minimize its impact on the environment. Below are just a few ongoing green initiatives that are available for sponsorship. We look forward to working with you to align your company’s environmental initiatives with the Bumbershoot experience.

Bike Parking

Bumbershoot Bike Parking

Located outside one of the Festival’s two entrances, Bike Parking at Bumbershoot provides an invaluable service to Festival patrons. When at capacity, this parking area can accommodate approximately 500 bikes. The sponsor of Bike Parking will receive booth placement within the Bike Parking area, as well as the opportunity to activate onsite sampling and reward programs.

Free Water Stations

One Reel provides four Free Water Stations on the Seattle Center grounds during Bumbershoot, allowing Festival patrons opportunities to refill their reusable water bottles and reduce the number of plastic bottles used during the Event. Each Free Water Station is located underneath a brandable 10′x10′ canopy.

Recycling/Composting Program

Recycling is encouraged throughout Bumbershoot, and this opportunity allows your brand to actively reward Festival patrons for their participation. Limited post-consumer composting is also available at the Festival. Sponsorship of composting efforts is an amazing opportunity to educate Festival-goers on the latest green disposal opportunities in the city. Activation of either function entitles the sponsor to brand disposal containers throughout the grounds, dispatch a roving team of uniformed volunteers to distribute branded items to the Festival’s attendees, and offer a helping hand to those who need it.

Carbon OffsetsSOLD

Each year Bumbershoot offsets the carbon emissions for all artist travel to the Festival. In 2009, Bumbershoot and their Greening Partner, NetGreen, offset 356.6 metric tons of CO2. An additional 618.9 metric tons in carbon offsets were purchased by Bumbershoot attendees. All Festival offset credits benefitted an Oregon-based methane capture project, turning bovine emissions into a renewable engery source. Sponsorship of the Carbon Offsets program at Bumbershoot provides opportunity in PR and goodwill towards the Pacific Northwest, a very environmentally-conscious community.
