Seth David Friedman aims to reframe the role of public art in modern society, making sculpture that gets dry humped (and shown in places like Hedreen, Central Washington University, and Victor Steinbrueck Park) in the process. If visual art is a feast you eat with your eyes, BLACK POEM starves the eyes to stuff the mind. By feeling down a long series of sculptures without the aid of sight, viewers create an internalized narrative of uncommon form and content.
