Where can I get Bumbershoot tickets?

When tickets are on sale, you can purchase online at any time, or in person from our Street Team at various times and locations throughout the summer, or at the Festival gates.

Subscribe to the BumberFan Newsletter to be notified first of ticket details. Each year, BumberFans have the opportunity to buy early and get exclusive “Insider Deals” not available to the public.

When do tickets go on sale?

Weekend passes for Bumbershoot go on sale about 10-11 months in advance of the Festival, and single day tickets go on sale when the lineup is announced. The earlier you buy, the more you save, and each year, BumberFans have the opportunity to get exclusive “Insider Deals,” which are always the best value. Only BumberFans have access, so sign up now to be the first (and only) to hear about Insider Deals!

How much do tickets cost?

Current prices can be found at our online store, and only go up as we approach the Festival, so the earlier you buy, the more you save; that’s our guarantee. Be the first to know about any tickets deals, price changes, and more by subscribing to our BumberFan Newsletter.

Who needs a ticket to Bumbershoot?

Anyone aged 11 and over will need a ticket to enter Bumbershoot grounds. Children 10 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

For Platinum and Gold Pass holders: due to the limited number of seats available for premium ticket holders, children aged 6 and over do require a separate ticket if you wish to bring them with you into the Platinum and Gold seating areas and/or hospitality lounge. Children 5 and under will be asked to sit on the lap of the accompanying adult pass holder.

Do you offer discounted tickets for kids, seniors, military, or patrons with permanent disabilities?

Children 10 and under are admitted free with an accompanying adult. Tickets for active military, veterans, and seniors aged 65+ will be available at Festival gates for $45/day, while supplies last. Please note that this price is not available for additional family members, companions or escorts. Proof of eligibility is required in order to receive the discount. For seniors this is a government-issued photo ID indicating birth year; for active duty military this is a CAC military ID; and for veterans this is a DD-214 along with government-issued photo ID.

Patrons with permanent disabilities wishing to attend Bumbershoot may purchase tickets online, which are discounted prior to the Festival, or at the Festival gates.

What methods of payment are accepted at the Festival box office?

We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We DO NOT accept checks, money orders or foreign currency.

Where can I pick up my Will Call tickets?

Will Call is located at the Festival entrance on Mercer Street, between the Intiman Theater and Exhibition Hall. Tickets and passes ordered for Will Call will be available for pick-up on Friday (the day BEFORE the Festival) between 11 AM and 7 PM, or during the Festival (Saturday through Monday) between 10:30 AM–9:30 PM

Does my ticket guarantee me entry to any and all of the Festival events?

No. All performance spaces have limited capacity, especially indoor venues. Early arrival for each performance is advisable to secure admission and your ideal vantage point, but cannot be guaranteed.

Platinum and Gold Pass holders have access to reserved seating at select Festival venues, subject to individual venue capacity. Please see Platinum and Gold Pass information for more details about the program and its benefits.

Are there chairs at the venues, and does my ticket reserve my seat?

Events are held in a variety of settings and venues, some containing seats, and some not. Most of Bumbershoot’s indoor venues feature accessible seating areas for patrons with permanent disabilities. If a venue entrance is not accessible, patrons with disabilities and one attendant will be escorted to an alternative accessible entrance.

What if a performer I want to see cancels?

We will do our best to notify attendees of all changes and cancellations in advance, however all events are subject to change or cancellation at any time without notice. There are NO TICKET REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES, even in the event of an artist cancellation.

What happens if it rains?

Bumbershoot will go on, rain or shine!

What time do gates open and close each day?

The Festival runs from 11 AM to 11 PM each day of the Festival, Saturday through Monday, but gates close for entry at 10 PM.

Am I allowed to leave and come back later in the day?

Yes, Bumbershoot allows re-entry. Your ticket and a Festival hand stamp will be required for re-entry to Bumbershoot.

Getting Here

Where can I park?

Seattle Center is surrounded by a generous amount of public and private parking. However, due to the popularity of the Festival, parking can sometimes be difficult to find, especially in the afternoons. A few tips:

  • Consider using public transportation or coming on foot or bike to Bumbershoot—no parking to worry about
  • Consider carpooling—find a buddy to carpool with on King County Metro’s Event Match
  • Allow yourself plenty of time to find parking
  • Some of the pay lots are “cash only” and some are unattended, so come prepared with cash in all bill sizes
  • Please be considerate of the folks who live in the neighborhood surrounding the Seattle Center—obey posted parking rules, don’t block driveways, and drive slowly on residential streets

How can I get there by public transportation?

Let Metro do the driving! King County Metro offers many regular routes that run to and from the Seattle Center and surrounding areas. Please see the Metro trip planner for routes that service the Seattle Center. Please remember the Sunday schedule (reduced service) will be in effect on both Sunday and Monday of Bumbershoot, due to the holiday.

Ride the Monorail! The Monorail runs daily every 10 minutes between Westlake Center and Seattle Center. Festival extended operating hours are 8:30 AM to Midnight on Saturday and Sunday, and  8:30 AM to 11:30 PM on Monday. For more information visit the Monorail website.

Update on the Metro Bumbershoot Shuttle: King County Metro Transit is no longer able to financially provide the event shuttle that formerly operated from the Northgate Transit Center.

Is there a place to store my bike?

Bumbershoot is located within biking distance from many of Seattle’s great neighborhoods. Bumbershoot’s bike parking is located on Broad Street near the Space Needle. Bicycle parking is free and highly encouraged. Don’t forget to bring a bike lock!

Will there be a place for me to store my things at the Festival?

Lockers will be available near the Festival gates for you to store your Bumbershoot treasures.  Please note that there will be a bag search upon entry to the Festival so leave prohibited items at home.

What items are prohibited at the Festival?

Persons entering the facilities and their bags may be subject to search for the following, all of which are expressly forbidden on the Event premises and subject to confiscation:

  • bicycles
  • weapons
  • projectiles
  • alcohol
  • animals, except service animals
  • cameras with detachable lenses
  • audio/video recording devices with external microphones
  • glass bottles
  • cans
  • wagons or carts
  • coolers larger than 14″ x 15″ x 10″
  • backpacks larger than 17″ x 12″ x 10″
  • laser pointers
  • air horns or other noisemakers

In the addition to the above, the following items are prohibited at the Mainstage shows:

  • skateboards
  • reusable bottles are OK, but single-use plastic bottles are not allowed

Skateboards may be checked at a location inside the Festival grounds prior to entering the Mainstage.

May I bring audio or video recording equipment to record the events?

Audio and video recording equipment with an external microphone is not allowed at Bumbershoot—please leave this type of gear at home.

May I bring food or beverages?

You are permitted to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages into Bumbershoot with the following exceptions:

  • Absolutely NO alcoholic beverages. Beer and wine may be purchased inside the Bumbershoot beer gardens with proper ID.
  • Absolutely NO glass bottles are allowed inside Festival grounds.
  • Absolutely NO outside cans are allowed inside Festival grounds.
  • NO plastic, single-use bottles will be allowed into the Mainstage.
  • NO BEVERAGES MAY BE TAKEN OUT OF THE BEER GARDENS (all liquids, whether brought in or purchased in the beer garden, must be consumed or discarded prior to exiting the garden). Bag checks will be enforced.

May I bring my pet?

Animals (including pets) are not allowed at Bumbershoot, except for service animals. Please see Bumbershoot Access Guide for Persons with Disabilities for detailed information (available in July).

Are there other hotels near Seattle Center?

There are many hotels in the neighborhoods surrounding Seattle Center. See the Visit Seattle website for all the resources you need to plan your trip to the Emerald City.

If you decide to stay in downtown Seattle, save money and time parking by walking or taking an alternate method of transportation to the Festival, such as a King County Metro bus or the Seattle Center Monorail.


Is EDM in the Stadium?

Moving the Mainstage outside to Memorial Stadium means Bumbershoot must adhere to City of Seattle decibel limits. This precludes us from programming an EDM headliner. To address this issue, we expanded our non-mainstage EDM programming from two nights to three nights, and are partnering with USC Events to give EDM fans the best experience possible while being good neighbors to nearby residents.

How do I get into the Mainstage?

Entrance into Mainstage shows is first-come, first-served, and subject to capacity.

Please note: special entrance privileges will be provided to Platinum & Gold Pass holders. Platinum & Gold Passes are available for purchase at bumbershoot.org prior to the Festival, while supplies last.

Can I take my water or soda bottle into the Mainstage?

Reusable bottles are permitted at the Mainstage; however, single-use, plastic bottles will not be allowed to enter the Mainstage. Please note that while reusable bottles are permitted, no glass bottles are allowed on Seattle Center grounds during Bumbershoot.

Comedy Shows

How does the Comedy Pass work?

Due to the high demand for Bumbershoot’s comedy shows, and the intimate venues in which they are staged, a limited quantity of free passes guaranteeing general admission are offered for each comedy performance.

Comedy Passes are available every day at each of the two Comedy Pass Distribution booths, one located on the northwest side of the Fountain Lawn and another located on the southeast side of the Armory just after the entrance at Gate 1 (by EMP). Comedy Passes are not required, but recommended to secure a seat in one of the comedy performances. One Comedy Pass per person/ticket, per day will be available, while supplies last. Comedy fans wanting to attend more than one comedy performance each day are encouraged to join the stand-by line at each venue (see below for details).

Tip: Get your Comedy Pass early in the day before supplies run out!

When do I need to get to the comedy venue with a Comedy Pass?

To guarantee admission, Comedy Pass holders must arrive at the venue no earlier than 30 minutes before, but no later than 15 minutes before the performance time. At 15 minutes before the performance time, unclaimed seats held for pass holders will be open to those in the stand-by line. Pass holders arriving 15 minutes or closer to the performance time are no longer guaranteed a seat and are encouraged to join the stand-by line for admission. The venue manager will not allow lines to form early, so please do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes prior to show time.

Please note: Special entrance privileges will be provided to Platinum and Gold Pass holders, who do not need to pick up a free Comedy Pass. Platinum and Gold Passes are available for purchase at bumbershoot.org prior to the Festival, while supplies last.

Can I see a comedy performance if I don’t have a Comedy Pass for that show?

It’s quite possible! Each venue will have a stand-by line for patrons wishing to attend a performance but who do not have a pass to that particular performance. The stand-by line will form 30 minutes prior to the scheduled show, and will be closed at the discretion of the line manager. Admission from the stand-by line is not guaranteed, and is first come, first served. There is no limit to the number of performances for which you can try to stand by. The venue manager will not allow lines to form early, so please do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes prior to show time.


Do children have to obtain a ticket?

Are there any age restrictions for Bumbershoot?

All performance venues and exhibition areas are “all-ages.” Once inside the Bumbershoot grounds, parents and guardians should use their own discretion as to what programming they deem suitable for their children to experience. Children’s programming for kids 12 and under will be available in the Youngershoot Kids Zone and other family friendly programming is notated in the Bumbershoot program guide and in the online schedule.

The only areas with restricted entry are the beer gardens located throughout the grounds. Beer gardens are 21+ with appropriate ID (mandatory). Children, including babes-in-arms, may not enter the beer garden areas under any circumstances.

What should we do if our child becomes separated from us?

If your child becomes separated from you, please report it immediately to the nearest information booth, Bumbershoot staff person with a radio, or Lost Kids Headquarters. Lost Kids HQ is located at the Seattle Center Customer Service Office, on the 3rd floor, north balcony, in the Armory. The Bumbershoot team is very experienced and knows just what to do to help reunite you with your child as soon as possible.

What is KidSafe?

Bumbershoot offers free wristbands to help reunite lost children with their parents and/or guardians as part of our KidSafe program. When you arrive at the Festival, go to the nearest information booth to complete a short registration form with your contact info and get a numbered wristband for your kid. In the event he or she is separated from you and brought to Bumbershoot Staff, we’ll contact you immediately! This free service is also available for adults with disabilities.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are allowed at the Festival, but not inside the Mainstage. Due to the nature of the Festival, we highly encourage you to use a sling or backpack for ease of navigating throughout the grounds.

Can we rent a stroller?

There are no strollers available on Festival grounds for loan or rental. Please plan on bringing your own form of transportation (stroller, sling, frontpack, backpack, etc.) for your children.
