Thank you for your interest in Bumbershoot 2014. The dates for this year’s festival are August 30–September 1 (Labor Day Weekend).
Bumbershoot’s curatorial period occurs in the winter and spring. All applicants will be notified of their status directly by someone on the Bumbershoot staff. Please do not call or email the office to check on the status of your applications—please wait for us to contact you.
Any application submitted that does not also include samples of your work will not be considered.
To apply to the music program, visit Sonicbids by April 4. Sonicbids is the website that helps bands get gigs, and promoters book the right bands. Their site is a diverse and dynamic community on the Web, and includes bands, singers, songwriters and performers of all kinds from all over the world, and music buyers of all kinds, including promoters, licensors, festival programmers, colleges, and much more. Bands go there for gigs; promoters go there for bands. They have lots of both.
Bumbershoot commits that our programming department will review all musical submissions, but due to the large volume of inquiries only selected applicants are guaranteed to receive follow-up communication(s).
Deadlines for these application periods are Friday, February 14. The Bumbershoot Theatre program is presented in conjunction with our curatorial partner Theatre Puget Sound.
Spectacles & Street Performers
Street performance has been integrated into the Bumbershoot’s long running Spectacles program. If you are interested in performing at Bumbershoot, you must apply before the posted deadline to be considered for curation into the festival programming. Only officially selected artists will be allowed to perform on the Bumbershoot grounds.
The deadline for this application is Friday, March 21.
Deadlines for these application periods are Monday, April 21. We continue to accept applications until all spaces are filled. If you are interested, you should apply.
The Arts & Crafts category includes handmade crafts, original designs and fine arts. All other retail goods should apply under the Lifestyles category.
