  5. not that either of you will read this BUT (and its subjective)

@Heather very very very very VERY far from the best lineup ever…english beat has played quite a few times..bouncing souls have been at least once before…rise against isn’t really that good live..weezer in front of that many people kind of sucks

@erika the wallflowers broke up quite a while ago..jakob most recently does solo work..so there could be a chance of him showing up BUT it’s not as if he and his dad are best friends or anything either.

  6. @kody

far from nobodies BUT the lineup is pretty weak…they are targetting a bigger cross section to attempt and draw more variety of people I think…the line ups should resemmble smoethign more like coachella since they have that agreemetn with the people who book coachella (or did?) but none of the line ups have really lived up to what they should be with that kind of hook ups backing them…

I think maybe we all should enjoy what could be the last bumbershoot as we know it though..with fun forest gone and memorial stadium’s future not looking so bright…..this could be the last festival as it’s been known for the last 10-15 years.

  7. special guest IS in all likely hood jay-z; j.cole is a rapper signed to his label..if not jay than alicia keys OR maybe it will be the both of them…..ALTHOUGH

i guess it could be beyonce…..it’s going to be of the r&b /rap/hiphop/pop variety

  10. looking at pollstar made me realize….ANVIL!!!! \m/ \m/

    mainstage act’s aren’t listed…hmmm

starting to see enough to perhaps draw me to seattle afterall…..still hate the new pricing structure though

  11. I am really regretting buying the 3-day passes. I can’t stand any of the mainstage acts. Should’ve opted for Capitol Hill Block Party. Shouldn’t Bob Dylan be playing the Puyallup Fair instead? I hope I can sell these passes.

  12. I like the idea of not having to pay for a mainstage artist I am not interested in, but I am really worried about Bumbershoot bringing in far too many people with the cheap tickets. I’ve already missed a few bands because of overcrowding/small venue size (Why is the Skychurch so small?) Unfortunately I think this year we will encounter the biggest crowds and most disappointed fans Bumbershoot has seen. If you enjoy waiting in line, I think this is the Bumbershoot for you!

  13. this line up is really disappointing, by far worse then last year. they are probably struggling to book solid groups because so many good acts have come through seattle this year, sasquatch had a killer line up, and the capitol hill block party has a strong line up that may even be a better then this one if mgmt wasn’t so incredibly boring live. i hope they have more acts to add, because this line up is missing 2 big main stage acts and at least 5 solid mid level acts.

  15. !?Really?! Thia lineup is horrid. Compared to Coachella, Sasquatch & even cap hill block party its a joke. Very sad as the past 2 years I could at least count on a legendary reggae act to appease me. I hope more names of weight are to be announced or Ill have to skip Seattles largest music fest.

  19. This is a solid lineup. I couldn’t believe Dylan is actually going to be there! The Decemberists will put forth an awesome show without a doubt. Moondoggies, Meat puppets, Ra Ra Riot, Unnatural Helpers, Idiot Pilot… this year will be awesome.

  20. Geeze Seattle area people – We’d kill to have any of these bands play for us troops over here in Iraq. But they are playing for you while we are here. Go enjoy your freedom or don’t. It is really supposed to be about sharing moments of joy, discovery, togetherness, community and the Arts. Put aside the b.s. of life for a weekend and relax with friends and family. Maybe my sister and her family won’t have to listen to you bad mouth her birhday present (passes) from me while she is there celebrating while I’m on my third deployment. Cheers, Scott P.

  23. @Rafael

I WISH it was the gorillaz but that ain’t happening…they wouldn’t sandwich a electronic group between two primarily “urban” acts…plus it’s going to be something kube plays because it’s obvious they are sponsoring the mainstage that day

hihgly unlikely at it being luda for whomever suggested that…he was just here twice in the last year..doesn’t make it IMpossible but not so likely

cap. hill block party actually managed to bring some big names down so I agree their line up is pretty close to better than bumbershoot..the more I let it linger the more i don’t completely hate the shoot lineup BUT still waiting on who we are getting for comedy..ALTHOUGH

as someone said cheaper tickets might lead to hella overcrowding BUT it usually really depends on how the weather is for how many people end up showing up

  24. So it looks a little weak I would hope that the line up will be diverse; and when someone comes in they need to be excited and not bored.

  25. “cheaper” tickets is a bit misleading – the tickets weren’t that much more expensive than this til way late in the summer previous years. In fact, last year you could get tickets for 60 before the lineup came out, then 25 per day through middle of June (when those tickets sold out – the majority of the lineup was out by then). And those tickets had the option of main stage access too.

  30. I don’t get all the complaints…. Budos band , bomba estereo, Balkan beat box, Brian auger, trampled by turtles,McTuff trio, aterciopelados, coryell trio, jay electronica…. Plus bands not announced or that I am not aware of for 66$ for three days? Actually it seems very reasonable to me…if I were to discover two or three new bands, that would make it worthwhile…open your ears, quit complaining, or go start your own band if u hate these ones so much

  37. WOW…can’t believe how cynical some are…the opp to see Dylan & other scheduled acts should be more appreciated. Sounds like a great lineup and I personally am looking forward to being pleasantly surprised by many of the performers whose names I don’t recognize, as I always am when attending Bumbershoot…shouldn’t take for granted living in a place with such easy access to this kind of cultural opportunity. Respectfully submitted…
